Birthday bike ride
As the weather was so good for my birthday (21ºC and wall to wall sunshine) I awarded myself the day off work. Fiddled around for the morning (just a few work calls to deal with ) and prepped my bike. Tyres blown up, brakes work etc. - necessary as not been out on it for a while.
So set of down to Tansley, up over Beeley moor to the Chesterfield -Baslow road, Dropped down to just below Birchams edge and back up and over Curbar gap. Bit of main road stuff to Baslow and then through Chatsworth and then up Beel;ey Bank. That’s the steep bit on the profile picture which, given that I have not been out for a while, I crawled up but made it.
The final push back up to Riber I thought was going to be a hill to far but was OK. I needed a sit down and a cuppa before I could summon the energy to go upstairs and get in the shower.
A great afternoon in glorious spring weather. ( No pictures I’m afraid!) 53.8km on my bike computer 707m of climbing.
Happy Birthday
Glad I was not with you, I might have managed the first 10 k
