Keeping up to date with pealing.com
As I've turned email notifications off (you no longer get an email when some one posts something new on pealing.com), the best way to keep up with new postings is to use RSS.
RSS is an automatic notification system used by lots of websites. You need a "feed reader" to get the notifications, and there are lots of options, from complex/comprehensive to very simple. If you just want to keep up to date with pealing.com, them something very simple is all that's needed. I use a little widget on my (linux) desktop that shows me the two most useful feeds from pealing.com and nothing else. That way, whenever I go to my computer, I can see if there's something new on pealing.com, but it's not cluttered with notifications from other websites. There are quite a few widgets (gadgets) for Win7 that do this too. Hermes seems to do the job quite nicely, though it does have a lot of configuration options. This makes it more complicated than some to set up, but does mean you can get it to display the RSS notifications how you want.
Whatever reader you choose, you should add two "feeds":
http://www.pealing.com/rss.xml (the main feed for new blog posts)
and
http://www.pealing.com/feeds/comments.xml (the comments feed)
If you do try Hermes, here's a sample config file you can import to get you started.
