Clearing the head
I haven't had a migraine for a long time.
A very long time. I don't remember when I last had one in fact.
So this one caught me off guard. I knew it was a migraine, but it was different - all the symptoms except the pain. I was reluctant to take my migraine meds for some reason (brain not functioning probably) and finally caved about 14 hours in. That was yesterday. The pain went and I was left with the familiar feeling of suddenly losing about 80 points of IQ. Brain wouldn't function. And v tired.
Today feeling physically better, but still woolly in the brain department. So despite the Fiordland rain I decided a walk would help clear away the remnants of the migraine.
I've once before (years ago, with Taf) been up from Lower Princhester Hut to the saddle and I wanted to take Dill somewhere unfamiliar so decided I would wander part way up there. Of course, once I set off up there I wanted to get to the saddle at least. It's a really nice walk, and the bush gives some protection from the worst of the rain. And my head seemed OK too.
At the saddle, the rain was even worse, so I set off down again. Shortly after I started getting weird visual effects, and an hour later after carefully making my way back to the car, it was obvious that the walk hadn't helped my migraine at all. A short stroll along the lake-shore may have done, but bush-bashing up to the saddle at the head of the Bog Burn didn't.
Still. Dilys had fun, and it seemed like a good idea at the time.

(The pics are 'soft focus' cos of rain on the phone protector.
I did a track with WindyMaps but can't figure out in my current state how to export the track as a GPX )

A 3-4 mile walk always seemed to help my head to clear.
Looks like you had an enjoyable time.
