An Ambitious Project!
So... The Mini has (finally) arrived in Te Anau. It all happened in a bit of a rush. We went to Helen Dodson's (Tim Barrow's Mum) birthday, (not specifying age) and were getting ready to leave. We found Dad having a discussion with Pete, Tim's dad. They were discussing the possibility of bringing the Mini down from Dunedin on Pete's trailer. It all sounded great until we saw the trailer, which was already in Dunedin. It was pretty small! We got Gethin out of bed, (about 1:00 p.m.) and piled back into Pete's truck. It was a matter of precision. We got back to Te Anau, with a Mini, about 9:00 p.m. We proceeded to unload, and with the extra brute force of Gethin missing, it was a bit harder. However, once we got over the initial bottoming out, it rolled down the ramps well. Spent all of Monday (Public Holiday) unbolting things. The good news is there isn't too much daylight. Not bad conidering it's spent the last 9 years outside by the sea, 1 1/2 of which were out in the open, not even tarpaulined!
