Kayak weekend
Alex Jerusha, Freya and Gid went on a kayaking weekend to ulswater. Isis an Jacqueline stayed ay home - Isis was working in the day at the library and at night in the local restaurant.
We all joined Hambleton Paddlers a while back and have been taking our star grades under the bcu coaching system
Set off under a cloudless sky on Friday evening and rocked up at the campsite about an hour later. Pitched two tents next to the rest of the group - there were about 40 of us. First night all sat around chatting turned in about 11.
Up at 8:00 hearty breakfast and out on the lake.

This visit to see Beth, Tom and our grandchildren has been a little different.
Road Trip
Caroline & Steve arrived in NZ late Sunday evening, stayed one night with Nic & Jim, & flew down to Invercargill, where we met them. Tuesday, the plan was to go to Milford, but the road was closed due to snow; the first snow we've had this winter! So we took the post as far as the Hollyford valley, doing the regular stops and short walks along the way.
Bike Ride
Ok thought I'd better post something even though you have all congratulated me already! This is the only picture I have. Joe (who was using the ride for training for his Lands end - John O Groats ride in August) took it of me at the finish. Bit of a grimace going on I think I was trying to smile! (There is an great one of me taken by the official photographer but I refuse to pay £10 for a download!)

I have made the first steps. This entry was posted from the app as it is at present (just a skeleton) using an emulator.
Basically, it just proves I can connect to the website back-end via the app.

An Ambitious Project!
So... The Mini has (finally) arrived in Te Anau. It all happened in a bit of a rush. We went to Helen Dodson's (Tim Barrow's Mum) birthday, (not specifying age) and were getting ready to leave. We found Dad having a discussion with Pete, Tim's dad. They were discussing the possibility of bringing the Mini down from Dunedin on Pete's trailer. It all sounded great until we saw the trailer, which was already in Dunedin. It was pretty small! We got Gethin out of bed, (about 1:00 p.m.) and piled back into Pete's truck. It was a matter of precision.
Porthleven, Cornwall
Just got down to Porthleven (top of the Lizard Peninsula - almost at Lands End). Ron was desperate to go away somewhere so Jude, Maggie, Ron & I have rented a cottage for a week. We are in the row of white houses down by the harbour.
The view from our private terrace across the harbour is fantastic.
The weather tonight was great after a long drive down here with the weather improving as we went south. We unpacked then sat on the balcony with our welcome scones, jam and clotted cream. Then we went for a quick walk around the village and will explore further tomorrow.
Haircut 2
Isis has also had hers cut same day straight after Gid

And the before one makes you realise she has had as much cut off as Gid !!!
